Summer Reading

This summer has been one to remember for many reasons, but I particularly want to commend the books that I had the oppurtunity and privelege to read. I read 4 books this summer and would recommend each of and every one of them. I also took the liberty to review some of the books on Amazon. Here is the list:

John Calvin: A Heart for Devotion, Doctrine, and Doxology

Various Authors

John Calvin book

19 of some of the most renown Reformed pastors and theologians contribute to one of the best books about the man John Calvin. A must read for those of the Reformed faith, but also for those who would like a concise look into Calvin’s life and theology.

Chosen for Life: The Case for Divine Election

Sam Storms

Dr. Sam Storms takes hold of a difficult doctrine and made it easy to understand. This is one the best treatments of Divine Election I have ever come across. I wrote a brief review of the book on

A Mind for God

James Emery White

A Mind for God, James Emery White

This book was convicting and thought provoking, a great read for those who desire a cultural apologetic. I also wrote a review for this book at

Freedom From The Tyranny of Urgent

Charles Hummel

This book could have been much shorter, but was quite helpful. A book that deals with time management can either be interesting or boring and this has elements of both. Hummel’s principles on time managment are worth checking out.
